Naomi and Makayla love the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and especially love hiking together. Originally, they were planning a fall Smoky Mountain elopement in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at Appalachian Clubhouse, so we were going to take spring engagement photos at Ijams Nature Center. But, then everything reversed! They chose to opt for an intimate backyard wedding in June, so we took their spring engagement photos at Elkmont near Spence Cabin in the Smoky Mountains. Everything about this session was dreamy including Makayla’s dress, the sprinkle of rain, and then the golden sunlight. Of course, the big black snake who made an appearance wasn’t exactly my dream, but Makayla and Naomi were enamored by him.
