Dylan said he knew Meghan was “the one” when he couldn’t picture life without her and wanted to wake up everyday by her side.

So, on a beautiful morning in April while on vacation in Gatlinburg, TN, he woke up, drove her to Cades Cove for a sunrise photoshoot, and surprised her by dropping to his knee and asking her to be his wife.

As a Smoky Mountain photographer, I love shooting sunrise proposals in Cades Cove! I love how the scenery is constantly changing based on the foliage and wildlife, making each shoot unique in its own way.

As we drove through the 11-mile loop, a wedding was taking place at the Methodist Church, so we stopped at Missionary Baptist Church instead. This was my first time inside this adorable church, and it became a new fave location. I love how the sun was glowing behind the church, and I especially loved the sun’s golden light on the church walls.

Of course, most of all, I loved capturing Meghan and Dylan’s happiness and playfulness.

To Meghan and Dylan: I hope you are enjoying engagement season! Thank you for getting up early on your vacation to create such special memories.
